Scouting Trail Open House

Bellingham Pack 118 is bringing Cub Scouting back into the spotlight with the Scouting Trail Adventure, a free, family-friendly event reintroducing the scouting program to our town. It’s our chance to open the doors and show kids in kindergarten through fifth grade what Cub Scouting is really about — not just talk about it, but actually try it.

Families will follow a Scouting Trail Passport around a series of hands-on stations, collecting a stamp at each stop. Highlights include the Archery Outpost, where kids can try an inflatable archery range; Gadget Lab, a STEM building challenge where they design and test their own creations; Pioneer Post, where they’ll learn a real Scout knot and try their hand at pioneering; and Compass Quest, a scavenger hunt built around basic map and compass skills. There’s plenty of just-for-fun energy too at the Scout Games Zone. Complete the full trail and stop by to meet our pack leaders, and your Scout earns a small prize at the end.

This is a big building year for our pack — fresh energy, fresh leadership, and a renewed focus on making Scouting fun and welcoming for every family. It’s a small time commitment with a big payoff: a couple meetings a month turn into new friendships, hands-on adventures, and skills your child will carry for life. No experience necessary, and new Scouts — and returning ones — are always welcome.
